Avatars of Lord Vishnu - Part 3

Part 2 link

The first 6 incarnations of Lord Vishnu have been explained in the first and second part. Next, let us take a look at Lord Vishnu's remianing incarnations.

7. Shri Ram Avatar:

There was a lot of terror due to the demon king Ravana in Tretayuga. Even the demigods were afraid of him. To kill him, Lord Vishnu was born in the form of a son from the womb of mother Kaushalya to King Dasharatha. In this incarnation, Lord Vishnu killed many demons and lived his life following dignity and righteousness.

Lord Ram went into exile on the advice of his father. Lord Ram's wife - Sita ji and younger brother - Lakshman ji accompanied him. While he was in exile, the demon King Ravana abducted Sita ji. Lord reached Lanka in search of Sita, there was a fierce battle between Lord Shri Ram and Ravana in which Ravana was killed. Thus, Lord Vishnu in the form of Lord Ram freed the demigods from fear and served as an exemplar for his subjects and followers.

8. Shri Krishna Avatar:

In Dwaparyug, Lord Vishnu took the incarnation of Shri Krishna and destroyed the unrighteous. Lord Shri Krishna was born in prison. His father's name was Vasudev and mother's name was Devaki. Lord Shri Krishna performed many miracles in this incarnation and destroyed the evil ones.

Lord Krishna also killed Kansa, became Arjun's charioteer in the Mahabharata war and gave the precious knowledge of Geeta to the world. Dharm (religion) was established by making Yudhishthir the king. God Krishna died at the age of 125 years in 3102 BC. Soon after which Kaliyug began.

9. Buddha Avatar:

According to religious texts, Gautam Buddha, the originator of Buddhism, is considered to be the incarnation of Lord Vishnu, but Lord Buddhadev mentioned in the Puranas was born in Kikat country near Gaya. The name of his virtuous father is said to be ‘Ajan’.

Once upon a time, the power of demons had increased a lot in the world. The glory of the demigods diminished in front of the demons. Then the demons took over heaven and started enjoying the glory of the demigods. But they were always worried that who knows when the demigods would become powerful again and once again take over heaven.

To know the secret of the reason for the stable kingdom, the demons tracked down Demigod Devraj Indra and asked him – “What is the solution to ensure that our kingdom remains stable?”

Then Devraj Indra replied with pure emotion – “Yagya and religion are necessary for stable rule.

The demons took refuge in religion and started performing yagyas. As a result of which their power started increasing day by day. Demonic power started spreading in the world. Defeated, the demigods took refuge in Lord Vishnu and prayed to him to save them from this suffering. Then Lord Vishnu assured them and took the incarnation of Lord Buddha.

Lord Buddha always had a Marjani (broom) in his hand and he used to sweep the path and only then step on it. By doing so he ensured that no jeev (living being) is being killed under his feet.

Thus Lord Buddha reached the demons and preached to them – “Performing Yagya is a sin. Yagya causes violence to living beings. So many living beings are destroyed in the burning fire of Yagya. Look, I too try so hard to avoid violence against animals and living beings. First I sweep the ground with the broom and only then do I step on it."

The demons were greatly impressed by the teachings of Lord Buddha. They abandoned Yagya and Vedic practices. As a result, their strength weakened within a short time. The demigods were waiting for this moment, soon they attacked the demons and defeated them. The demigods regained control over heaven.

10. Kalki Avatar:

Kalki's incarnation is yet to take place. Kalki's incarnation will take place at the junction of Kaliyuga's end and Satyayuga's beginning.

This is the tenth incarnation of Lord Vishnu which will take place in the last phase of Kaliyuga. Right now it is the first phase of Kaliyuga, only a little more than five thousand years have passed.

Everyone knows how much moral degradation the human race has witnessed in such a short period of time. As Kaliyuga passes, religion will gradually disappear from the earth and the moral degradation of humans will also increase. Sin, pain, sorrow and immorality will spread everywhere.

At that time, there will be a very pious, virtuous and excellent Brahmin named Vishnuyasha in Sambhal village. The same fortunate Brahmin Vishnuyasha's place is the place where Lord Vishnu will incranate in the form of Kalki.

He will be endowed with great intelligence and bravery, a Mahatma, virtuous and well-wisher of the people. That most virtuous Lord Kalki will destroy all the sinners and evildoers from the earth. Kalki will ride on the horse named Devdutt and destroy the sinners from the world and re-establish religion, only then will Satyayuga begin.

After this, the rise of religion will naturally begin and Satyayuga will be established again on earth.

The incarnations of Lord Vishnu have happened only for the purpose of welfare of living beings and protection of the universe. Lord Shri Krishna has said in Geeta –

Meaning:

Whenever there is a decline in righteousness and an upsurge in unrighteousness, O Arjuna, I then manifest myself.

For the protection of the good saints as for the destruction of the wicked as for the establishment of rigtheouness, I manifest myself from age to age.
